You can now purchase and download the Caterpillar 797 3D model in 3DStudio Max 2010 (*.max).
Model description: Caterpillar 797 Mining Truck which is commonly used for mining and oil sands extraction. The cargo weight it can transport is about 800 tons. The model is highly detailed (almost to every single bolt) and rigged for further animation: the dump body is rigged the way the hydraulics works properly; the front wheels are rigged with the controller: rotating the controller makes the front wheels turn; the tires are affected by the spacewarp FFD modifier: when they rotate they get slightly deformed in the bottom like from truck weight. Note: 1. Although it says that the model is in Autodesk 3ds Max 2010 format, it actually is made in 2011 version. The website did not have 2011 option to choose. 2. Some parts of the model have Toorbosmooth modifier applied to them: it is turned off for the Viewport view, but shows up at the render time..
